*The children will have the opportunity to taste several all-natural veggie chips, most of which are homemade. We will be making a graph of the chips that children like and will use it as an opportunity to discuss mathematical concepts such as counting, and comparing quantities (less than, greater than). The veggie chips will also be our snack today.

Our Teachers

Kristin

I created Nature and Nurture because having my own early childhood education program is my dream, my life's work. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was a child. I somehow always knew that education would be my career path.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Child Development from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and a Master's Degree in Education with an emphasis in Child and Adolescent Development from UC Santa Barbara. I hold a Child Development Permit from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing at the Program Director Level, the highest offered. I have many years of experience working in the field of early childhood education, in a variety of capacities. I have written one children's book and hope to write more. And, I'm a mom. I am committed to providing children and families with the best early learning experience possible.

I have enjoyed watching children learn, discover, and explore as they grow, and I knew from a young age that I wanted to have a career in education. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and a minor in Educational Studies focusing on Early Childhood Education from the University of California, Irvine. I believe that each child is an individual and I am very dedicated to making sure each one of them is given abundant learning opportunities to help them in their experience. Although I don’t have children of my own yet, child development is an on-going process that I love being a part of.
